Mad Day

In 19th October, Sunday, our school had a event 9am - 5pm. The event was called 'MAD Day' meaning 'Make A Difference Day' and it was quite 'MAD' at that day. I came to school about 12 am and did a lot of events. I was quite tired and we had line dancing which was about 5-10 minutes. This led me even more tired than before.

After the activities, we had to run the stall and I don't know why but 9B also stayed in our stall, helping little bit. I was wondering around at the other stalls and had nail art and went to my stall. I just stayed in my stall for 20 minutes and I went to multi-court to see Andra and Tom. I actually met Andra in front of the school gate and we talked to the kids who's from Afghanistan, Pakistan and more. They were refugee who's parents were either dead or at war. I felt sympathy for them and we moved on to multi-court.

As I went to multi court, Ms. Jill and some students were summing up the stamps and wrote how much do we need to collect. And me, Kim and Minsub helped them to summing up the money. And we went back at home.

Next day, Ms. Linzi was mad at us as our money has been gone. And I felt weird that there was no way that money has gone. It is kind of mystery. But I still had good time there.

Kampung kids in term 2 and term break

 At Term 2, I attended to Kampung Kids Program where you go to outside at SET time and help kids there. Me, Tom and Abdul Jabbar went there before lunch time to serve foods to kids. I was the one who served rice to them and AJ served a soup for them. Tom served chocolate milk after they eat. It was really fun to do. Mr. Luke talked to the woman there who take care of poor children and Mr.Luke told us that one of them are 12 years old but they are tall as 5-6 years old, I was quite surprising and kind of sad because I think he didn't eat much so he's really short.

 At the term break, I attended church group for mission trip for 4 days and 3 nights. It wasn't that long so I thought it would be okay. First day, we met people in our church at 4-5am and we went to airport to go to Lampung, one of the most islamic city in Indonesia. After we came to Lampung, the priest told us some warnings like do not eat in front of people because it was Ramadhan, don't talk about Jesus there, something like that. We needed to go to work place as soon as we arrived to Lampung airport. We were so tired but we went to the work place. There were 4 types of working that we could do, painting houses, playing with kids, medical care and hair care (basically cutting hairs). I joined to work on painting houses and first day, we painted the first house, it was far away from the other work places because we had other activities in one place. Anyway, for the first day it was okay.

 Next day we had to paint two houses and one of them had a request to not get the paint on the floor but we splashed a lot anyway. First mess was from our priest so he couldn't say anything. And another girl messed up too. We painted the houses successfully and we were tired.

 Third day, we went to an island and rest there for some hours. I liked the island but I didn't like to get wet but later I got completely wet because of people from church. And I need to be staff for let the kids playing games which splashed tons of water to me. And next day we went back to Jakarta. And I won't go mission trip again.

CAS Reflection

This term, I am doing futsal, homework club and basketball CCAs.For me it is first time trying Futsal CCA in this term and I had Homework Club CCA and Basketball CCA in term 1.

In futsal, holding in lunch time at Monday, We make four teams and have some matches. The good thing about this CCA is that we don't need to do training before matches. Since the time of this CCA is more limited, there's no time for training. I learnt how to play Futsal in this CCA. To improve this CCA, Mr. Arif should be more strict about the rules and concentrate more in matches in futsal because sometimes he misses calling foul or out eventhough people just foul and play.

 In the homework club, we study or doing our homework in the library by ourselves or with subtitute teachers every Tuesday. Subtitute teachers are helping students in the homework club and making sure that no one playing games in homework club. Because I know how to study alone because I had this CCA before, I developed how to study alone in Homework Club CCA more efficiently. I think the teachers should be more strict about playing games in homework club to improve this CCA and they should help them as much as they could.And I think I will quit this CCA later.

 And also at friday, we have Basketball CCA which held in after school until 5pm. We do trainings before the matches for one hour and we start playing game. This CCA has been divided into two groups, juniors and seniors. Two groups are having different trainings. I'm in the junior group and I joined in this group because I need to follow CAS system. Although I joined this for CAS system, I developed my skills in Basketball more in this term. I think I should improve more skills in Basketball but I'm planning to not having this CCA next term as I'm not enjoying it.

Next semester, I'm going to join one of service CCA and futsal as I got bored with Homework Club CCA and Basketball CCA.
